How to Apply

Who May Apply
The IASCW application for scholarship to the Irish Life Experience  summer program is open to any High School student who lives or attends school in Will County. 


Costs
Tuition to the  the Irish Life Experience program in 2020 for IASCW scholars is $5,150. Scholarship awards are $3,000. Student and family are responsible for the balance including: tuition; airfare to Boston, MA; and personal expenses. 


Requirements to Apply
  1. Complete the application dover form
  2. Submit a 300-word essay entitled "Why I want to Study in Ireland"
  3. Submit letter of recommendation from current teacher or administrator 
  4. Submit a letter of recommendation from a non-family adult


Process and Interviews
All applications received by deadline will be considered. Finalists will receive an invitation to interview in-person with the IASCW Scholarship committee. Some of the criterion used by the committee is as follows:
  • Maturity
  • Other accomplishments already achieved by the student
  • Ability and willingness to come up with the balance of the tuition cost
  • Strength of character for the student is a representative of the Society of the Irish Way program


​Requirements/Expectations
Award recipients are required to attend the IASCW Scholarship Awards Dinner held on Saturday following March 17th each year from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at a location to be announced each year.
