- Chicago Area Rugby
Football Union
- Chicago Dragons The
Chicago Dragons Rugby Football Club is the first rugby club in the Midwest
established to invite members from traditionally under-represented groups,
particularly gay men, to engage in the world's third most popular team sport.
- Fox Valley Maoris The
Fox Valley Maoris Rugby Football Club was established in the spring of 1975.
Brothers Danny and Benny Kenyon wanted to share the experience of rugby
football with their home town friends of Aurora, Illinois. Danny got his
introduction to rugby at Southern Illinois University and Benny received his
at Illinois State University.
- Illiana Misfits The
Illiana Misfits Rugby Club was formed in May of 2003 by William Rolle and Tony
Chapa. The goal of the Illiana Misfits is to offer the sport of rugby to the
Northwest Indiana and Southern Chicago areas.
- Lake County
Gladiator Rugby was started by
the hard work of player/coach Vince Jiuditta in
the Fall of 2003. We are a Division III Club and a part of the Chicago Area
Rugby Football Union. All players, new, old, experienced and non-experienced
are welcome to join us.
- Northwest Indiana Exiles
New to D III. Fall 06
- Peoria
The Peoria Rugby Football Club is the first rugby club in Peoria Illinois.
Actually we are just a bunch of rag-a-muffins who think we are tough on
Saturday!
- Quad City Irish
The Irish are a Division 3 men's rugby club located in
the heart of the Midwest. Located in the Quad City area the Irish boast
players from both Iowa and Illinois.
- Rockford Ravens Rockford is
also one of the Division III clubs we see a lot of during the year. You won't
find a better group of guys, though. Their Rockford Whorefest tournament is
one of the best rugby gatherings of the year!
- Chicago Riot
- Chicago Condors III
- Illinois State University Rugby
Club Explaining the relationship between the Golden Squirrels and the Shamrocks is
like trying to explain the sound of one hand clapping. For some reason, Shamrocks just
seem to keep going to ISU and wanting to kill the Shamrocks, and then coming back to the
Shamrocks and wanting to kill ISU. Go figure. ISU is a top notch team, though, and has
great things ahead of them in years to come.
- Chicago Blaze Rugby Club The Manhattan
Shamrocks roster has old Blaze guys all over the place. These guys take their rugby
seriously, and have their own bar. Can you imagine if the Shamrocks had their own bar?
- Eastern Illinois University Rugby Club The
Hornets seem to be Illinois' collegiate powerhouse these days. Current Shamrock Jeff Kane
played collegiate rugby for them.
- Green Bay Celtics The Green Bay Rugby
Football Club (GBRFC) was founded in the spring of 1972 when a disgruntled ST. Norbert
College student, John Featherston, walked out of class, drop kicked his books into the Fox
River and met a hooker. (Not necessarily in that order).
